During this period of full time employment, Edward underwent part time training in road traffic accident investigation with Consulting Engineers, E J Allen & Associates.

In respect of motor vehicle accident damage, he is proficient in utilising the Glassmatix Partbase system and applying Thatcham time schedules to methods of repair as well as the Glass’s Guide Evaluator system for establishing vehicle pre-accident value. He is familiar with the Audatex system of estimating.
Edward is responsible for the oversight of the day to day running of the Assessing Department of E J Allen & Associates.
Edward had received specialist training on use of F/N 150 Minitector Elcometer to establish coating thicknesses on metallic substrates with specific reference to paint coatings on private & commercial vehicles.
Specialist training in the use of Keymed Olympus borescope for internal inspection of cylinder bores, chassis and similar without dismantling.
Specialist training in the use of Turnkey Skidman, for establishing coefficient of friction at tyre / road interface.
Specialist training in the use of Stanley Portable Skid Resistance Tester for testing surfaces for vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic in wetted and dry conditions, including familiarisation with the original Transport and Road Research Laboratory road notes and year 2000 guidelines issued by the UK Slip Resistance Group.
Training in the use of Collision Deformation Classification and Edcrash Damage and Scene Data Computer Assisted Delta V calculations as developed by Engineering Dynamics - USA
Current Responsibilities and Employment (Senior Engineer Consultant)
Edward currently deals with a wide range of cases which require in depth investigation and negotiation.
He is employed Provision of Expert Engineering Consultancy Services including Automobile, Mechanical, Industrial and Forensic.
In respect of road traffic accident investigation, he attends road accident scenes to take measurements, produce photographs and record site data. He considers all elements of accident evidence including scene analysis, vehicle damage, occupant/pedestrian injury, driver perception and witness statements, photographs and scale plans. He is conversant in the use of Newtonian calculations and produces a full and detailed report, in accordance with CPR 35.
In respect of slip resistance, he attends accident scenes and undertakes surface measurements with Stanley Portable Slip Resistance device and Surtronic 10 surface roughness device. He produces detailed reports and analysis based on the current recommendations of the UK Slip Resistance group of which E J Allen & Associates are members.
Edward maintains a proper record of his continuing professional development programme (CPD) which is available at all times.
Other Technical Courses Attended
Edward was a delegate at the 2003, 4 day Conference of the Institute Of Traffic Accident Investigators and the vehicle impact testing and vehicle / dummy collision testing carried out during the conference.
Edward has received training on the CPR Rule 35 and the Expert Engineer’s responsibilities arising out of the rules. He is checked and accredited by the Law Society Expert Witness Directory and is a full practicing member of the Academy of Experts.
Edward has held a full driving licence since 1987.
