Previous Employment Record
1990-1992 Darren Morgan left school and started an apprenticeship in motor accident repair trade with Leathwoods of Selhurst, main Volkswagen agents. Following this he continued in the motor repair trade for 4 years enhancing the range and level of his skills.
1999 -
E J Allen & Associates (Consulting Engineers) Special In House Training
Underwent intensive training with the Principal as a Senior Assessing Engineer and Assessor.
Extensive training on use of Glassmatix Partbase Computer Assisted Automobile Assessing system and regularly working with same for use in accident repair estimating. Subsequent training of other new engineers.
Training on use of Glass’s Guide Evaluator, Computer Assisted Car/Commercial and Motorcycle valuations.
In respect of motor vehicle accident damage, Darren is proficient in utilising Glassmatix Partbase computer assisted system and applying Thatcham Time Schedules to method of repair as well as the Glass’s Guide Evaluation system for establishing vehicle pre-accident value. He is familiar with Audatex and other systems of estimating.
He has received training on methods of vehicle inspections covering cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles and in all the necessary Health and Safety aspect relating to inspection and repair of motorcycles.
Darren has received specialist training in the use of F/N 150 Minitector Elcometer to establish coating thicknesses on metallic substrates with specific reference to paint coatings on private & commercial vehicles.
Specialist training in the use of Keymed Olympus borescope for internal inspection of cylinder bores, chassis and similar without dismantling.
Specialist training in the use of Turnkey Skidman for establishing coefficient of friction at tyre/road interface.
Specialist training in the use of Stanley Portable Skid Resistance Tester for testing surfaces for vehicular traffic.
Current Responsibilities and Employment (Senior Engineer Consultant)
Darren currently deals with a wide range of cases which require in depth engineering investigation and negotiation.
He is employed in the provision of Expert Engineering Consultancy Services including Automobile, Mechanical, Industrial and Forensic.
In respect of motor vehicles Darren provides detailed forensic reports on pre-purchase and post-purchase condition, diminution in value, mechanical and electrical failure, paint defect, tyre failure and produces a full and detailed report, in accordance with CPR 35.
Darren carries out forensic inspections on car and commercial vehicles and motorcycles which have been damaged by fire having himself received special training in the field.
In respect of motorcycles Darren provides a specialist service in pre-purchase inspection and valuation and provides a detailed report for perspective purchasers. He deals with RTA cases and carries out forensic investigations on damaged motorcycles. It is believed that this is the only motorcycle comprehensive inspection and report service available in the South of England and probably in the UK as a whole.
Darren maintains a proper record of his continuing professional development programme (CPD) which is available at all times.
Darren has received training on the CPR Rule 35 and the Expert Engineer’s responsibilities arising out of the rules. He is checked and accredited by the Law Society Expert Witness Directory and has been elected as a Full practising Member of the Academy of Experts.
Darren holds a full driving licence for cars and motorcycles.

Darren has attended a VSRC course in Understanding Crashes / Vehicle Safety and Injury Causation.
Darren has attended a Thatcham recognised training course from Hannaford Forensics in Vehicle Forensic Fire Investigation.
Darren was a delegate at the 2003, 4 day Conference of the Institute Of Traffic Accident Investigators and the vehicle impact testing and vehicle / dummy collision testing carried out during the conference.
Darren has also attended specialist brake testing and off road testing carried out by E J Allen & Associates including vehicle to pedal/cycle dummy under collision etc.
