Computers to Assist Qualified
Engineers to provide Value Added Reports

At E J Allen & Associates we have the benefit of Assessor 2000 Computer Assisted Management software as well as Glass's Guide 'Part Base' graphical software providing part numbers and part prices information for a range of suppliers original equipment. Alternative supplier prices are provided, giving an option for the older car in particular. The labour times associated with repairs are derived from the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centres TTS Database (Thatcham). Both Assessor 2000 and Glass's Guide Part Base are year 2000 compliant.

E J Allen & Associates also provide the SAE J224 MAR80 Collision Deformation Classification (CDC), a seven digit three-dimensional description of the accident damage including the Principal Direction of Force (PDOF) and a measure related figure for the extent of penetration/ deformation which is rather better than the subjective comment such as light, moderate or severe.

All reports are provided for our clients by qualified engineers at competitive fees. In addition, we provide reports based upon opinion times for motorcycles, caravans, heavy goods vehicles, agricultural equipment, earthmoving equipment and specialised vehicles.

The area we cover for Automobile Assessing is based upon a 35 mile radius of London and a 30 mile radius of Southampton.

History and Commitment

For a number of years, Ted Allen was a Senior Evening Lecturer at Croydon College where he taught Engineers from a variety of Insurance Companies and other Independents in preparation for their final examination of the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors. This work he did in addition to running E J Allen & Associates. The subjects covered were Motor Vehicle Law and Insurance in addition to Automobile Assessing. He still keeps his hand in on the Assessing front and this helps him to keep the firm in the forefront of modern developments.

Ted Allen has served periods of office as Secretary and Chairman of the London Region of the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors as well as having served on the National Committee of the Institute.

All our engineers are qualified and sent on Thatcham courses to update their Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Automobile Assessing is an important part of the service offered by E J Allen & Associates and this is why all our engineers are involved in accident damage inspections, and why we continue to invest in equipment, computers and software related to Automobile Assessing so that we have the best tools to provide quality reports at competitive fees.
